Following Thich Nhat Hanh’s (a Vietnamese Buddhist Monk) tradition, we will be sharing and leading 20 minutes of sitting meditation, 5 minutes of walking meditation, and a mindful reading. Although meditation sharing is open and free, we ask for a donation to support needs in our local community. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary.
A floor-only class where one holds the poses for 2-5 minutes with supportive props. This class targets the connective tissues of the whole body, such as tendons and ligaments, that are normally not exercised. This class is appropriate for all levels.
Heated Yoga (winter only)
The room is heated to 85 degrees to encourage deeper stretching and increased flexibility in a vinyasa style class. Bottled water and a small towel are highly recommended.
Power and Pose
Begin with Circuit Training in the Sweat Shop followed by Yoga at NiMaSte Yoga. With circuit training, you’ll cycle through a series of moves designed for both strength training and cardiovascular fitness. Yoga will help you wind down, stretch those tired muscles, and prepare you for the rest of your day.
Postnatal Flow Yoga
When you are a new mom, self-care may seem like a distant memory. Carve out a weekly dose of me-time with Postnatal Flow Yoga! Enjoy the community of other new parents as you spend an hour each week to focus on balancing your body, releasing tight muscles, retraining core muscles, and ending with some restorative yoga. For mothers six weeks to two years post-partum. (Distinct from Baby and Me Yoga, this class is for adults only.)
Tot and Me Yoga
This class is focused on the growing mobility of the child as they move to crawling, standing and walking. It is yoga for ages 17 months to 3 years, so there are rhymes, songs, games, and yoga poses geared toward their development. The class is a fun way to introduce yoga to your child and share in the experience of exploring new skills, through repetition and interaction with other children their age. An adult must participate with the child but no previous yoga experience is required.
Tween Yoga is designed for kids from 7 - 15. In today’s fast-paced, digital world, children are pressured to grow up fast. Many need coping skills, and mind-body practices that reduce stress. This class will combine creative and playful functional movement, with mind-body work. Children will learn traditional poses, yoga games, and breathing exercises to calm the mind. Safe, non-judgmental play will be emphasized. We have mats to borrow, or you can bring your own.
