Intro to Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Designed for students new to yoga or to vinyasa flow yoga, Intro to Vinyasa Flow will focus on alignment In poses and connecting transitions as well as the basics of breath awareness. This class will allow you to build a strong, safe and confident foundation for your yoga practice.
Heated Yoga (winter only)
The room is heated to 85 degrees to encourage deeper stretching and increased flexibility in a vinyasa style class. Bottled water and a small towel are highly recommended.
Yoga en Español
Clase de una hora que provee un espacio para aprender a respirar unificando la mente, el cuerpo y nuestro espíritu. Realizaremos una serie de poses (asanas) coordinando la respiración con el movimiento (Vinyasa). Es una clase abierta para todos aquellos que hablen español y quieran practicar yoga. Nos focalizamos en promover fuerza, flexibilidad, atención y relajación. Se ofrecen modificaciones en las poses utilizando bloques, cintas y mantas como también incrementar y avanzar en los conocimientos de yoga ya adquiridos.
Following Thich Nhat Hanh’s (a Vietnamese Buddhist Monk) tradition, we will be sharing and leading 20 minutes of sitting meditation, 5 minutes of walking meditation, and a mindful reading. Although meditation sharing is open and free, we ask for a donation to support needs in our local community. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary.
Power and Pose
Begin with Circuit Training in the Sweat Shop followed by Yoga at NiMaSte Yoga. With circuit training, you’ll cycle through a series of moves designed for both strength training and cardiovascular fitness. Yoga will help you wind down, stretch those tired muscles, and prepare you for the rest of your day.
Playtime Flow Yoga (All Levels)
Come for a mixed-level vinyasa flow yoga class and bring the kids along! No need to find childcare in order to nurture yourself. This is an adult class,but your children are welcome to play, read, sleep,
watch something, or maybe even join in the yoga!
Baby and Me Yoga/Postnatal Yoga
Baby and Me/Postnatal Yoga is open to women in all stages of postpartum. Vinyasa yoga will help you reconnect with your body. We combine baby yoga and massage with yoga for you! The community of caregivers in this class will nurture you emotionally as you care for your infant. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, strengthen your core muscles, and play with your baby at the same time. Classes are for babies not yet crawling. New mothers please check with your healthcare provider before starting any exercise program; usually waiting 6-8 weeks postpartum.
Tot and Me Yoga
This class is focused on the growing mobility of the child as they move to crawling, standing and walking. It is yoga for ages 17 months to 3 years, so there are rhymes, songs, games, and yoga poses geared toward their development. The class is a fun way to introduce yoga to your child and share in the experience of exploring new skills, through repetition and interaction with other children their age. An adult must participate with the child but no previous yoga experience is required.
Tween Yoga and Teen Yoga
Tween Yoga is designed for kids from 7 - 11, while Teen Yoga is for older children ages 11 - 16. In today’s fast-paced, digital world, children are pressured to grow up fast. Many need coping skills, and mind-body practices that reduce stress. This class will combine creative and playful functional movement, with mind-body work. Children will learn traditional poses, yoga games, and breathing exercises to calm the mind. Safe, non-judgmental play will be emphasized. We have mats to borrow, or you can bring your own.
Yoga Sculpt is a carefully designed series of poses that combine strength, flexibility, and balance for the entire body. Light dumbbells serve as your personal adjuster for your fitness level.
Zen for Men
A welcoming yoga class for men of all fitness levels that leaves you feeling refreshed. The class is designed to strengthen, stretch, and balance the entire body. This class is appropriate for all levels.
