How do Online Classes Work?
Thank you for your flexibility and willingness to stay connected. Our schedule of online classes can be found here. For anyone who hasn't already participated in online classes, but would like to join now, here are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
How do I register for online classes? What devices can I use?
You will register for classes online through our schedule or the Mindbody app just as you have in the past. In order to receive the link to the online class, you must register at least 1 hour before class begins. For 6am and 7am classes, register by 8pm the night before. We will email you the link to the class or "meeting" using Zoom teleconferencing. You can download the app for your device here. It works for computer, laptop, and Android and Apple phones and tablets.
What do I need for my home practice space?
Prepare a space in your home for your practice. If you have a yoga mat or towel, you can place it in front of your device. Any props, like blocks, a strap, pillows or blankets, can be used. Keep in mind, we are all trying something new and possibly out of our comfort zone, so approach it with a sense of wonder, flexibility and curiosity. Embrace possibilities and new beginnings.
Do I have to keep the camera on to take the class?
When you log in to the Zoom meeting, we enjoy greeting and seeing each other, but you will be able to mute your computer microphone and/or turn your camera off during the class if you wish. The teacher will know you are there, since there will be a window with your login name. If you want to receive tips and personal guidance from the teacher or replicate the feeling of practicing together, we recommend turning your camera on.
What if I have technical difficulties?
Please call or text us at 240-242-9654 or email us for assistance. If you cannot access the class at all, we will refund your class.
What are the benefits of live and interactive classes?
In this challenging time of isolation and uncertainty, it is important to remember the meaning of yoga. Yoga means union. We can find the interconnectedness that gives us meaning and purpose while continuing to practice together in this way.
Thank you for helping to keep our studio and community healthy and well.
