BEGINNERS CLASSESUltra Gentle Yoga
In Ultra Gentle Yoga, those new to yoga, recovering from injury, or who like an individualized approach explore how props can help you safely practice poses while building strength, balance and flexibility. The experienced practitioner can explore more difficult postures with support. Props in this class go beyond the usual blocks, blankets, and straps to incorporate bolsters, chairs and the wall to help you deepen and find more freedom in your practice, explore alignment, and build confidence in how to enhance your practice for your body. Flow Yoga Level 1 Flow Yoga Level 1 is a beginners class with a focus on fundamentals of stepback sun salutations, standing poses, hip openers, seated poses, twists, backbends, and basic inversions. Students begin to link movement with the breath. Yoga Level 1 provides a nurturing environment to help you gain flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation. A perfect class for those new to yoga or anyone seeking a refresher on the basics of alignment and vinyasa flow. Gentle Flow Yoga Gentle Flow Yoga is a less strenuous practice consisting of basic poses, put together in a conscious, deliberate flow coinciding with the breath. This class is suitable for beginners, seniors, practitioners recovering from injury, and those who enjoy a gentle, slower pace. Meditation Practice Following Thich Nhat Hanh’s (a Vietnamese Buddhist Monk) tradition, we will be sharing and leading 20 minutes of sitting meditation, 5 minutes of walking meditation, and a mindful reading. Although meditation sharing is open and free, we ask for a donation to support needs in our local community. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary. |
ALL LEVELSPrenatal Flow Yoga
Prenatal Flow Yoga is a yoga practice uniquely designed for pregnancy. It's a slower paced vinyasa practice that can help support you emotionally and physically. With an emphasis on breathing, stamina, and pelvic floor work, restorative poses, and core strength, Prenatal Flow Yoga can help you become more resilient during and after pregnancy. No prior yoga experience required. Please consult your physician or midwife prior to class participation. Sunrise Flow In this early bird vinyasa style class, you will salute the sun and greet the morning, flowing from pose to pose. You will build heat, flexibility and strength while maintaining good alignment and a safe foundation. The teacher will offer modifications and variations to make the class appropriate for all levels. In the wamer months, this class moves outdoors as Sunrise Flow in the Park. Vinyasa Flow Yoga In this vinyasa style class, you will flow from pose to pose synchronizing your movement to your breath. This is a dynamic and vigorous style of yoga with a dance-like quality. You will build heat, flexibility and strength while maintaining good alignment and a safe foundation. The teacher will offer modifications and advanced variations to make the class appropriate for all levels. Yin Yoga Yin Yoga is a beautiful, meditative, and centering yoga practice. It is a complementary practice to more active styles of yoga supporting maintenance of mobility, healing, and an opportunity to explore mindfulness and the subtler aspects of a personal practice. Working with gravity, students move gently through poses, holding each shape for 3-5 minutes. This slow pace allows the pose to work within the deeper, connective tissues while invigorating the energy centers of the body to release blockages and increase energy flow. Primarily floor based, Yin classes focus on the lower body; especially the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. This class is appropriate for all levels. Yin-Yang Yoga Yin-Yang Yoga class offers two complementary forms of yoga, nurturing the gentle and dynamic movement our bodies need. The Yang practice is focused on action, while the Yin practice encourages acceptance and surrender. In the Yang portion, you are guided through dynamic sequences of asanas, synchronized with the rhythm of your breath, awakening the muscles, and creating heat and strength. The Yang poses revitalize the body and mind, promoting a sense of empowerment and vitality. In the Yin section of the class, you are invited to unwind and release tension through long-held, passive postures. The Yin poses allow you to explore a meditative stillness that targets the deep connective tissues of the body. Through the gentle stretches and prolonged holds, you will not only increase flexibility but also cultivate patience and introspection. ADVANCED LEVELSStrengthen & Flow
